Palm Coast, Fla. – In a dramatic turn of events, a registered sexual predator, Gabriel Pardo, was apprehended barely a half-day after regaining his freedom. Just released from a Florida state prison, Pardo wasted no time in violating the terms of his release, leading to his swift re-arrest by the vigilant Flagler County Sheriff's Office.
Pardo, 45, who had just been let out of a correctional facility and was dropped off at a bus stop on State Road 100 in Flagler Beach, was supposed to report to the Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Office in Bunnell the next morning. Instead, his GPS ankle monitor revealed a troubling path. He had walked more than six miles to revisit a Palm Coast home, the site of his past transgressions against children.
"This pervert, convicted rapist, pedophile, and predator, couldn’t even make it one night out of prison before he attempted to contact the victims he assaulted," Sheriff Rick Staly remarked.
Gabriel Pardo's criminal history is both lengthy and disturbing. His status as a registered sexual predator stems from a 2018 case where he was found guilty of repeatedly abusing two minors over several years. With a no contest plea, Pardo was convicted of two counts of sexual battery in 2019, resulting in an eight-year prison sentence followed by 15 years of sex offender probation.
Failing to report as required, Pardo's GPS data clearly indicated his movement toward familiar grounds. Detectives quickly located him on Old Kings Road, ensuring that his brief taste of freedom was cut short. Pardo now faces charges of violating probation and is held without bond at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.
