It's not every day that a star from the adult film industry makes a seamless transition to mainstream acting, but Chloe Cherry is proving it's possible. Known for her role as Faye Valentine in HBO's hit series Euphoria, Cherry credits her past in adult films for her success on the show. Since joining the cast in 2022, she's shared the screen with big names like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi.
Cherry's character, a drug addict entwined in a controversial relationship, posed challenges that few could prepare for. However, Cherry believes her adult film experience was a perfect training ground for acting on reputable sets. Speaking candidly with Glamour Magazine, she revealed her decision to embrace her past rather than hide from it.
"I was already on ‘Famous Birthdays, if that makes any sense," she said. "I already had a fan base of people who were fans of my porn or my Instagram."
With a devoted following from her previous career, Cherry was determined not to abandon the hard work she was proud of. She humorously likened her time in adult films to a free film school, albeit a path she doesn't recommend to everyone.
As Euphoria's third season kicks off, Cherry remains open about the perceptions tied to her past, telling Out Magazine, "If you're OK with being seen as a porn star for the rest of your life, that is the only reason that you should enter the adult entertainment industry... never to do other things." It's a label she's comfortable with, recognizing how it shaped her skills.
Fans are buzzing about the future of Euphoria. Despite season three being advertised as a 'season finale,' there's speculation about a potential fourth season. Creator Sam Levinson previously mentioned no plans for another season, yet the show's popularity might change that. While Zendaya hinted at closure, the series' success keeps fans hopeful.
