Bellevue police have taken a 21-year-old into custody following a human trafficking investigation focusing on a rental property in Bellevue’s Lakemont neighborhood. Dubbed the “OnlyFans House” on social media, this home had become infamous for hosting extravagant parties that were widely advertised online.
The buzz around the neighborhood was anything but quiet, as over 100 complaints from concerned neighbors flooded into the Bellevue Police Department (BPD). These grievances painted a chaotic picture involving everything from assaults and DUIs to weapons complaints and underage drinking. Some of these events reportedly attracted upwards of 300 attendees, many of whom were under the age of 18.
“Young women were reportedly coerced into participating in sexually explicit content for money,” BPD stated in the release.
The investigation, which kicked off last fall, delved into allegations that hinted at human trafficking activities. According to the police, young women were being coerced into creating explicit content for financial gain. Under Washington law, second-degree human trafficking involves recruiting, harboring, obtaining, or profiting from another person through force, fraud, coercion, or exploitation for labor or commercial sex.
In a cautionary note, police highlighted the concerning trend of parents unknowingly dropping off high-school-aged children at the residence. "What may appear on social media to be a glamorous party can expose young people to criminal activity, exploitation, alcohol and drug violations, violence, and serious safety risks,” warned Bellevue Police Captain Joe Nault.
The 21-year-old suspect now faces possible charges including second-degree human trafficking, leading organized crime, and money laundering. As part of the investigation, authorities have seized a substantial amount of evidence and impounded two luxury vehicles.
The Bellevue Police Department urges anyone who has been a victim of sexual exploitation or those with information about potential victims to contact their Human Trafficking Unit at ViceHT@bellevuewa.gov. Stay informed and vigilant to help prevent such crimes in the community.
