In a story that feels straight out of a thriller, OnlyFans creator Michaela Rylaarsdam has sent shockwaves through the online community after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter. This comes after the tragic death of her client, Michael Dale, in a bizarre 'mummy' fetish session. The session, which reportedly earned her a hefty $11,000, involved wrapping Dale in Saran Wrap and other unusual requests.
Back in April 2023, Dale reached out to Rylaarsdam, requesting a unique service that involved being wrapped "like a mummy." According to texts reviewed by Detective Chris Zack of the Escondido Police Department, Dale had a list of specific desires, including having women's boots glued to his feet and having his eyes sealed shut with adhesive.
“She called 911 and attempted life-saving measures,” argued Rylaarsdam's defense during a preliminary hearing.
However, the situation took a tragic turn. Dale was found with a plastic bag over his head, duct tape on his mouth, and completely enveloped in plastic wrap when police arrived.
The 56-year-old was rushed to the local hospital, where he was declared brain dead and later taken off life support. The medical examiner confirmed asphyxiation as the cause of death, noting the bag had been over Dale's head for at least eight minutes. Rylaarsdam, who also operates under the name Asshley SinCal, is now facing a four-year sentence.
At the preliminary hearing, a roommate of Dale's testified that he heard Dale asking Rylaarsdam to stop the session, even offering more money. Despite this, Rylaarsdam remained on the scene when authorities arrived and attempted to assist.
While such cases are rare, they are not unheard of. In a separate incident, Dwain Hall is facing trial for similar charges. His case involves the death of Sonia Exelby, who purportedly traveled from the UK for a fatal encounter.
