Fabian Delgado, a 34-year-old from Bellport, found himself in hot water after allegedly embezzling $260,000 from an unsuspecting auto body shop in Patchogue. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office has painted a vivid picture of Delgado's intricate scheme, which spanned from 2021 to 2025.
Delgado was employed by the shop to handle their taxes and diligently calculated the business’s dues each quarter. He would inform the shop owner of the owed amount, only to withdraw the funds himself, supposedly to settle with New York State. Instead, he concocted false tax returns that significantly underreported the business’s sales, sending less money than was actually owed to state officials.
"Delgado exploited the trust placed in him, channeling funds into a lavish lifestyle," noted a representative from the District Attorney's office.
The ill-gotten gains didn't sit idle in Delgado's accounts. Instead, he embarked on a spending spree that included everything from mortgage and credit card payments to airplane tickets and food indulgences. However, what stands out is his decision to splurge on OnlyFans subscriptions – an expense that adds a sensational twist to his fraudulent activities.
For a staggering 16 quarters, Delgado continued his deceit, accumulating a total theft of $260,687.22. His actions eventually caught up with him, leading to his arrest on charges of second-degree grand larceny, nine counts of falsifying business records, and nine counts of filing a false instrument.
Following his arrest, Delgado was arraigned and, under New York law, was released without bail. He is scheduled to make his next court appearance on Tuesday, June 16. As the legal proceedings unfold, the community remains captivated by the audacity of his actions and the lifestyle he funded through his deceit.
