Beau DeMayo's Controversial Marvel Chapter

Beau DeMayo is spilling the tea on his rollercoaster journey at Marvel Studios, offering a candid look back at his dramatic departure. In a revealing chat with Vanity Fair, the former X-Men '97 creator delved into his complex relationship with the studio, which led to a much-publicized legal battle still unfolding in the courts.

Nearly two years after his unexpected exit ahead of X-Men '97's premiere, DeMayo is revisiting the past. Despite having completed work on two seasons, he found himself caught in a dispute with Marvel. Both parties have since been at odds over the circumstances of his departure, with the lawsuit ongoing.

DeMayo's Claims About Marvel and His OnlyFans

In a twist that has everyone talking, DeMayo claims Marvel gave the green light to his OnlyFans account during his work on X-Men '97, as long as it stayed separate from the series. He emphasized that Marvel was clear about not mixing his personal endeavors with the show's content.

"It was cleared...It is your personal life. As long as you're not advertising the show on your OnlyFans, as long as you're keeping it very separate from the content of the show, it's outside of their purview," DeMayo told Vanity Fair.

Yet, DeMayo felt the sting of being perceived differently due to his identity, labeling the experience with the term "DEI hire." When returning to the X-Men '97 project, he encountered what he describes as "racist, sexist, homophobic vibes," which he found deeply unsettling.

Marvel's Stance on DeMayo's Allegations

Marvel hasn't held back in its response, firmly denying DeMayo's claims. Post-dismissal in March 2024, the studio cited an internal investigation's findings as "egregious," leading to an immediate termination.

Marvel refrained from further comments but, according to Vanity Fair's sources, the investigation centered on sexual misconduct allegations, which DeMayo has vehemently denied. His lawyer, Bryan Freedman, asserts that DeMayo seeks only "the truth" from Marvel, accusing the company of trying to undermine his credibility.

With both sides standing firm, the saga remains unresolved, with the court case set to continue in 2027. The drama surrounding X-Men '97 is far from reaching its finale. What are your thoughts on this unfolding story? Share in the comments below!
