Fans of the supernatural hit series 'Stranger Things' have been eagerly awaiting the release of Netflix's latest documentary, 'One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5'. This feature promises a behind-the-scenes look at the show's final season, revealing everything from intense action sequences to heartfelt cast interactions. However, viewers may notice the absence of two pivotal stars – Winona Ryder and David Harbour.
Why aren't Joyce and Hopper gracing our screens in this documentary? The answer comes directly from the project's director, Martina Radwan, who shed light on the situation in a recent interview with Variety. According to Radwan, the reason is simply a matter of scheduling. "They weren’t avoiding the project, and they weren’t left out intentionally," she emphasized, noting that time constraints prevented their participation.
“Unfortunately, with David and Winona, we couldn’t find the time. We tried,” Radwan explained.
Radwan shared that while Millie Bobby Brown took the initiative to film her interview on set, complete with a character-fitting nosebleed, similar opportunities didn't align for Winona and David. It was a case of bad timing, not a lack of interest.
Winona Ryder and David Harbour have been integral to 'Stranger Things' since its inception, portraying beloved characters Joyce and Hopper. Their absence in the documentary certainly leaves a void, but fans can hold onto the hope that the feature still paints a vivid picture of the show's journey. As viewers, we can cross our fingers and hope the documentary does justice to the beloved series, offering closure after an intense finale.
