WhatsApp is stepping up its game with a much-anticipated feature that lets users schedule messages to be sent automatically. This functionality, which has long been available on other messaging platforms, is now making its way to both individual and group chats on WhatsApp.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature has been spotted in the iOS beta version 26.7.10.72. Dubbed 'Scheduled Messages', this tool allows users to compose a message and set a specific date and time for it to be delivered. Once scheduled, the message will be sent automatically, requiring no further action from the user.
"It's exciting to see WhatsApp catching up with its competitors by introducing this feature," said a tech enthusiast. "Scheduled messages will make communication more flexible and efficient.”
Users will find these scheduled messages in a dedicated section within the chat information screen, where they can review or delete them before they are sent. Although the feature was showcased in a group chat setting, there's no indication that WhatsApp intends to limit its use to group conversations only, hinting that it will likely be available for one-on-one chats as well.
Despite the excitement, the Scheduled Messages feature is still under development and is not yet accessible to beta testers. As with all features in testing, there's no guarantee it will be rolled out to the public, as plans may evolve during the development process.
