Lana Rhoades, the renowned adult film actress, is making waves once again. This time, she's not stepping in front of the camera but taking on the role of co-owner and chief creative operator at Hidden, a fresh alternative to OnlyFans. Hidden promises a more equitable environment for sex workers, emphasizing fair profit sharing and improved working conditions.
The initiative comes as part of a collaboration with Stella Barey, a TikTok and OnlyFans content creator, who launched the platform earlier this year. Barey was driven by her experiences in the demanding adult content industry, where she spent over five years posting daily across various platforms. Her vision for Hidden was clear – a space where creators can thrive as true collaborators.
“There’s a huge lack of transparency. Creators are often left guessing about shadowbans, payout issues, or why their content suddenly stops performing," Rhoades explained. "And because most platforms are built by people outside the industry, the policies and product decisions often feel disconnected from what creators actually need in practice."
In April, Barey introduced Hidden to the world as the "anti-OnlyFans," positioning it as the first adult platform owned and operated by sex workers themselves. With a structure reminiscent of TikTok, Hidden is designed specifically for adult content, aiming to fill the gaps left by mainstream platforms.
Rhoades, who has stepped back from performing, is excited about the potential of Hidden. "Most of the corporate alternatives in this space were created by people who have never posted a single piece of content," she pointed out. "They don’t understand the risks, the pressure, the customer dynamics, or the creative side."
As of now, Hidden boasts a robust community of 115,000 users and over 2,200 creators, with a majority being women. The platform is gearing up for its 'Goon-A-Thon' event on December 4, where Rhoades' new role will be officially announced.
Looking ahead, Rhoades has ambitious plans for Hidden, including the development of feature films, educational content, live events, and even a clothing line. Stella Barey believes in the platform's potential, especially in light of recent changes in age-verification laws and a conservative shift in the industry. "A lot of people have told me there will never be anything except OnlyFans," Barey remarked. "With all of these changes, it's been really nice knowing that I’ve already built this platform that we’re not all going to just get kicked off of tomorrow."
The timing of this announcement is particularly interesting, as it follows OnlyFans CEO Keily Blair's statement about implementing background checks for new creators. With so much change on the horizon, Hidden is poised to become a significant player in the adult content landscape.
