Katie Price, known for her bold ventures, found herself in hot water after launching a travel business that was met with strong resistance. The OnlyFans sensation had embarked on this journey with a travel-focused Instagram page, alongside fellow TV personality Danielle Lloyd, 42, in an attempt to recruit agents for InteleTravel under the banner of Travel Smarter Group.
"Join Katie Price and Danielle Lloyd. Hear how you can earn money from travel around your other commitments. Work flexibly. Travel more. Earn extra income," read the advertisement that sparked a wave of industry criticism.
However, the duo's efforts quickly hit a snag. Industry insiders voiced their concerns, pointing fingers at the timing and nature of the ad. Particularly vocal was Inspire Europe chief executive Lisa Henning, who criticized the recruitment push amidst the travel industry's ongoing challenges due to the Middle Eastern conflict.
A statement, as reported by Travel Weekly, showed Henning's disapproval: "I very rarely comment publicly on things like adverts being posted about agent recruitment. But seeing Katie Price advertising an event to attract part-time agents this week was a step too far."
In the face of the backlash, Katie Price's team responded, clarifying her intentions. According to Travel Gossip, her PA stated, "Katie has never stated that she personally books travel. She is simply sharing this platform with others to help people become independent travel agents and create an additional income – whether that be part-time or full-time."
While Danielle Lloyd continues her work as an independent travel agent for InteleTravel, the collaboration with Katie to recruit agents has now come to an abrupt halt. The Instagram account linked to the venture has since been taken down, marking a swift end to what was hoped to be a successful partnership.
