Fans of the adrenaline-pumping BBC show 'Gladiators' were in for a surprise when Jamie Bigg, better known as Giant, recently announced his departure. The towering star, hailing from Ilkeston, Derbyshire, took to Instagram last Friday to break the news, expressing that being a Gladiator had been "one of the greatest honours of my life." However, there's more than meets the eye behind this exit.
In a candid statement, Bigg revealed that his decision to go public about his relationship with an OnlyFans creator might have influenced his departure. "I made it clear that I was planning to go public with my relationship, including the fact my partner works as an OnlyFans creator, and shortly after that, I was told I wouldn't be continuing on Gladiators," Bigg stated. This decision came as a surprise to the star, who has always taken his role as a public figure seriously.
“I've always taken being in the public eye seriously, and I believe being a role model is about honesty as well as professionalism," Bigg emphasized.
Despite the unexpected turn of events, Bigg remains optimistic about the future. Thanking the BBC and the show for the opportunity, he expressed gratitude for the experiences and vowed to focus on the path ahead. The former professional bodybuilder and firefighter, known for his impressive 52cm biceps and a diet of 10,000 calories a day, joined Gladiators when it made a comeback in 2024 and quickly became a fan favorite.
Bigg's commitment to authenticity and standing by his loved ones has defined his journey. He shares, "That's what being a role model means to me. I'm proud of everything I gave to the show and grateful for every single person who supported me along the way. This isn't the end. It's just the beginning." With his larger-than-life persona, Jamie Bigg's future endeavors are sure to be as exciting as his time on 'Gladiators.'
