Catelynn Lowell recently dished out some juicy details about the fate of "Teen Mom: The Next Chapter," leaving fans on the edge of their seats. Ever since the curtain fell on Season 2B back in May, the cameras have gone silent, and the cast is in the dark about whether a third season is on the horizon. While whispers of cancellation have been swirling, there's been no official word from production sources to seal the deal just yet.
During a candid chat with YouTubers Elle Bee and Rei Clarke, Catelynn shared what she and her hubby Tyler Baltierra have been told about the show's future and the status of other "Teen Mom" spin-offs. "We should hear something soon," she hinted, mentioning that the network recently trimmed the staff for the show but kept two key executives onboard. "But you never know. Basically, what [the network] is doing now is they’re going through every show and everything that they own with a fine-tooth comb and they’re figuring out what costs too much money to make and what doesn’t. What makes them the most [money], you know what I mean?" she added.
“They don’t have to give any of us ‘Teen Mom’ people an answer until, like, May,” Catelynn revealed. "May-something is when our contracts are coming up [for renewal]."
MTV has been busy reevaluating its lineup, waving goodbye to several beloved reality TV favorites like "Catfish" and "Ridiculousness." But don't worry, reruns are still here to keep us company! Meanwhile, fans of "Teen Mom" are holding their breath to see if they'll get another dose of Maci's beer-chugging antics or Cheyenne's wealth-bragging escapades. Catelynn explained that the network doesn't have to provide any answers until mid-2026 due to contract stipulations.
As the rumor mill churns, Catelynn addressed co-star Amber Portwood's claims on TikTok Live, where Amber took credit for the show's possible cancellation, suggesting her exit played a significant role. Catelynn set the record straight: "All of that is not factual," she stated, emphasizing that Amber wasn't pulling the strings behind the scenes.
With the future of "Teen Mom" in limbo, fans are curious about what's next for Catelynn and Tyler. The couple seems unfazed, focusing on expanding their "Cate & Ty Break It Down!" podcast. "I think we’re just going to keep hustlin’ the podcast, honestly," Catelynn shared. She expressed excitement about the freedom podcasting offers, allowing them to be themselves without restrictions.
Rest assured, even if the MTV paychecks stop rolling, Tyler won't be returning to OnlyFans, despite his past success there. Instead, Catelynn joked about exploring other quirky ventures, "I thought about joining Feet Finder, though! I’ve got some pretty feet!" she quipped, much to Tyler's amusement.
