Kit Barrus, a model who once immersed herself in the Mormon church, has taken a remarkable leap into the world of OnlyFans. Her journey began deeply rooted in the church, spending around 20 hours a week in its fold. But as she grew older, Kit started questioning the beliefs that had shaped her early life.
During her teenage years, she participated in traditional practices like baptisms for the dead and attended Girls Camp at 15, a common event for young Mormon girls. However, her personal life began to diverge from her religious upbringing. The first crack appeared at 14, when she watched pornography, and at 15, she lost her virginity. These revelations caused significant tension with her parents, leading to a dramatic shift in her life.
"When my parents found out about this, everything blew up," Kit told Metro. "They pulled me out of school and sent me to Idaho to live with my grandparents, after about six months of house arrest. I was miserable."
After leaving home to attend college, Kit returned only to face further conflict when her father discovered a single edible and a vibrator in her room, resulting in her being kicked out once more. She found a new path, renting a room and securing a job at a law firm. However, her career veered in an unexpected direction when a friend suggested she try OnlyFans.
Despite initial hesitations about entering the adult-content industry, financial pressures pushed Kit to create an OnlyFans account in 2022. The move proved lucrative, earning her $10,000 in her first month alone. This new venture not only provided financial relief but also funded her pursuit of a math PhD, marking a significant turning point in her life.
Kit describes her OnlyFans content as "silly but fun," often involving playful, tongue-in-cheek scenarios like dressing as a dragon and engaging with a female knight. Her Mormon upbringing influences her approach, steering her away from extreme content or sex challenges.
"I don’t make any extreme content or engage in sex challenges, and I actually credit my Mormon upbringing for that," Kit explains. "This industry can really push your boundaries."
Even though requests for more explicit content are frequent, Kit remains steadfast in her boundaries. "You’re like, 'I could make £100,000 [$140,000] if I just do this one thing,' but that’s when you sell a part of yourself," she added. Her experiences have instilled a strong sense of conviction, allowing her to navigate her career with independence and integrity.
Despite past conflicts, Kit shares that her relationship with her parents has improved, and she now feels quite close to them. Her journey is a testament to resilience and the power of forging one's own path.
