With the book's release on February 17, Bunnie is candid about her journey away from sex work – a decision fraught with complexity and emotion.

In her memoir, Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, details how she reached a turning point in her career. "God made sure to let me know that I made the right decision by no longer selling my body," she shares in the pages of her book. Despite the challenges, Bunnie found clarity and comfort in her faith, which ultimately guided her to focus on a career she wholeheartedly loves.

"But it grew, and I have now turned it into a multimillion-dollar business," Bunnie writes about her podcast's success.

From Podcast Passion to Financial Freedom

The transition wasn't easy. When Bunnie began monetizing her podcast four years after its inception, the income was modest. But with perseverance and passion, she turned the Dumb Blonde podcast into a flourishing multimillion-dollar enterprise. By 2022, she was financially secure enough to retire from sex work entirely and shut down her OnlyFans account.

The decision to step away from sex work wasn't just a financial one. "It was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make," Bunnie admits. However, embracing podcasting allowed her to be recognized for her voice rather than her appearance, a shift she deeply appreciates.

Embracing Independence and Looking Forward

Reflecting on her journey, Bunnie celebrated the one-year anniversary of closing her OnlyFans with a heartfelt message on Facebook. "Awww a year ago I retired from the SW [sex work] industry," she wrote, expressing her initial fears and the faith that propelled her forward.

Bunnie's independence has always been a cornerstone of her identity. Married to musician Jelly Roll, she proudly states, "I have always worked & made money on my own," emphasizing that her husband never pressured her to give up her financial autonomy. Her entrepreneurial spirit, which saw her starting her own brand using earnings from sex work, persists as she continues to thrive in her podcasting endeavors.
