Meet Mya Richardson, a 21-year-old OnlyFans sensation from Lansing, Michigan, whose journey through a rare cancer diagnosis hasn't dimmed her shine. Mya's story began with a persistent pain on her side at the tender age of 15, initially dismissed as "unbalanced hips". However, when a painful lump began to form on her lower abdomen, she was finally referred to a specialist.
The diagnosis was a shocker – Mya had a 12cm mass identified as spindle cell sarcoma, a type of tumor that can develop in bones or soft tissues. "It was a big shock when I found out it was cancer," Mya shares, reflecting on the moment she realized the seriousness of her condition.
“I had just thought it was a big cyst. The lump is still very painful.”
Despite the physical and emotional challenges, Mya remains a beacon of positivity. She swiftly began treatment, undergoing four sessions of chemotherapy and 25 sessions of radiotherapy. Yet, even amid constant pain, Mya continued her OnlyFans career, raking in an impressive $80,000 (£66,000) annually.
Losing her hair didn't stop her confidence. "Men love the bald look," Mya says with a smile, recounting the positive feedback she received when she first posted without a wig. Her followers have been nothing but supportive, proving that beauty is not confined to hair.
Mya's journey isn't over yet. After her diagnosis in September 2022, she learned that the cancer had begun to spread to her lungs, but thankfully, the treatment has halted its progress. She's gearing up for an operation to remove the tumor, scheduled after her March appointment.
"I will then be in remission for two years," Mya explains, acknowledging the possibility of recurrence but remaining hopeful. Through it all, she continues to support herself and her family, showing the world that cancer can’t dim her light.
"I’m still a very confident person," Mya affirms, embracing her bald beauty and the love she receives from her fans.
Mya's story is a testament to resilience and self-love. She initially wore wigs for her content, concerned about public perception, but now proudly posts without them, basking in the support and admiration of her audience. Her journey reminds us all of the power in embracing who we are, no matter the challenges we face.
