Revving Up Victory: ACI Motorsports Takes the Win

Hey, racing fans! Buckle up because ACI Motorsports just pulled off a heart-pounding victory at Barber Motorsports Park on Saturday, September 6. Curt Swearingin played the pit stop game like a pro, outmaneuvering OnlyFans Racing/P1 Groupe’s Alex Vogel to take the lead during the mid-race stops.

From there, Swearingin and his teammate Riley Dickinson didn’t look back, holding on tight to claim their first win of the year in the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Race No. 2. It was a sweet moment for the duo, who’ve been chasing this checkered flag for a while.

“Finally getting this win feels incredible - we’ve been so close for so long, and to pull it off here is just amazing!”

Pro-Am and Overall: A Yellow Flag Finish

In the Pro-Am category, Dickinson and Swearingin led the pack to victory under yellow, finishing ahead of Random Vandals Racing’s Sam Craven and Josh Green. BimmerWorld Racing’s Tyler McQuarrie and James Walker Jr. nabbed third, followed by AutoTechnic Racing’s Matt Million and Tyler Stone, with NOLAsport’s Michael Auriemma and Matheus Leist rounding out the top five.

Overall, the ACI duo outran Random Vandals Racing’s Kevin Boehm and Kenton Koch for the win. JMF Motorsports’ Braden Arthur and Mike David Ortmann secured third, while Marco Polo Motorsports’ Nicolai Elghanayan and Mads Siljehaug took fourth. Van der Steur Racing’s Max Hewitt and Luca Mars finished fifth in a race packed with action.

The race wasn’t without drama - OnlyFans Racing/P1 Groupe’s Matt Bell started from pole in his sleek McLaren but lost the lead early to Ortmann, who swept around the outside at turn 1. Further back, chaos ensued as Ortmann’s teammate Jesse Webb spun out, though thankfully, the field dodged a major pile-up.

Silver Class Showdown: Battles on Every Turn

Over in the Silver class, things got spicy! Ortmann kicked off from the class pole, sitting second overall, and quickly took the overall lead, using Pro-Am cars as a buffer to build a gap over Luca Mars. Meanwhile, Bell and Dickinson duked it out early, keeping the pressure on Ortmann while pulling a five-second lead on the rest of the pack.

Post-pit stops, Swearingin surged ahead of the OnlyFans McLaren to claim the overall lead, and in Silver, a slick stop handed Hewitt the class lead - though Arthur was hot on his heels. The battle intensified as Koch, Gonzalez, and VPX Motorsport’s Danny Dyszelski joined the fray, turning it into a five-way fight for supremacy.

Koch ultimately shone brightest, navigating past Gonzalez and Arthur (with a bit of bumper-rubbing action) and slipping inside Hewitt at turn 14a with 18 minutes left to take the class lead. Despite a late caution due to a crash involving Dyszelski and Thunder Bunny Racing’s Allen Patten, Koch and Boehm secured their seventh Silver class win in eight races - talk about dominance!

Silver Standings and Late-Race Drama

At the finish line, Koch nearly caught Swearingin for the overall win, but the caution flag dashed those hopes. Still, Koch and Boehm are on fire, and they could clinch the Silver championship as early as Sunday. Arthur and Ortmann took second in class, followed by Elghanayan and Siljehaug in third, Hewitt and Mars in fourth, and Webb with Jonathan Neudorf in fifth.

The drama didn’t stop there - Gonzalez’s aggressive move on Hewitt for second earned him a drive-through penalty for avoidable contact. And that late-race incident in turn 3? Dyszelski spun out, backed into the barrier, and got stuck in gravel, sealing the race’s chaotic end under caution.

Am Class: Unexpected Twists and Turns

Switching gears to the Am class, Thunder Bunny Racing’s Laura Hayes started strong on pole, sitting 11th overall. She held her ground early, despite a glitchy transponder making it look like she hadn’t even started - talk about a tech tease! But real trouble hit 22 minutes in when a tire issue forced her to pit, handing the lead to BimmerWorld Racing’s James Clay.

After the mid-race pit stops, the landscape shifted. Random Vandals Racing’s Darius Trinka capitalized on a speedy stop and solid driving to take the class lead. Teamed with Paul Sparta, Trinka pulled away from the pack to snag his second win of the weekend - a total power move!

RAFA Racing Team’s Anthony Geraci and Kenny Schmied finished second, followed by Clay and Charlie Postins in third. Hayes and Patten fought back to fourth, while Skip Barber Racing’s Alex and Michael Garcia rounded out the top five. Friday’s chaos was nowhere to be seen, but this class still delivered surprises.
