Lottie Moss, the younger sister of iconic supermodel Kate Moss, is stepping into her own light, one candid conversation at a time. At 24, Lottie has opened up about the challenges she faced in the modeling world and her new ventures on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Growing up in the shadow of a famous sibling, Lottie felt the pressure of the modeling industry's expectations, which left her feeling "very unhappy" and out of place. Starting at a tender age, she was pushed to change herself to fit the industry's stringent standards.
She recalled being a young teenager, barely 13 or 14, when she was told to lose weight to succeed. "I was super insecure," she confessed, sharing her struggle with unrealistic body image demands. The pressure peaked when she was told to slim down to a 23-inch waist for New York Fashion Week. "I was 18. I worked out until I got down to that size, I ate one piece of toast a day," she revealed, only to find out she wasn't tall enough. Such experiences fueled her insecurities, although she admits, "I'm surprised I never got an eating disorder from modeling."
The fashion industry's darker side exposed Lottie to drugs and alcohol, which became coping mechanisms for her. "It was just a part of the industry, it was very much accepted," she noted, describing the pressure to perform despite her unhappiness. As a result, she spiraled into depression and substance reliance, leading her to seek treatment earlier this year.
Reflecting on her journey to recovery, Lottie shared, "I was very depressed, I was very unhappy, I couldn’t get out of bed in the morning." She recognized a need for change, leaving behind a life that no longer served her, including her former modeling agency. "I want to be happy and I deserve to be happy," she asserted.
Post-recovery, Lottie found empowerment and joy in new endeavors, particularly through OnlyFans, a platform she discovered through a roommate. "I just saw her shoot one day and I was like, this is what I want to do," she said, embracing the chance to express herself freely.
Lottie's decision to join OnlyFans was met with some awkward family conversations, but she reassured her loved ones about her safety. Her sister Kate expressed pride in Lottie's choices, pleased to see her forging a different path. "I probably should’ve given a little more of a f***," Lottie laughed, acknowledging her bold step into risqué content.
While she's comfortable posing nude, Lottie draws the line at explicit content, emphasizing her boundaries. She also embraces her pansexual identity, celebrating her sexual liberation: "It’s all sexual liberation, genuinely, for me. I feel most liberated when I’m naked."
